DOUG CARTER: Bed sores in a word are wrong, pure and simple. When we see a bed sore that's developed in a nursing home or in a hospital, we know one thing. Somebody has cut corners. They haven't had enough staff. They haven't had enough training to make sure that the resident or the patient is turned, that they're kept clean, and that the things that can and should be done to prevent a bed sore from developing just simply did not occur.
And when that happens, that doesn't just breach the trust that you, a family member, placed in that facility when your loved one moved there. It also breaks the law.
