Motorcycle accident kills 1 in Grandview

Summer brings an increased amount of motorcycle traffic to Missouri. People get out to enjoy the sunny, warm weather as they travel around the beautiful state. While riding a motorcycle is fun for most people, it can also be dangerous.

Motorcyclists need to understand that they are at risk when on Missouri roadways. The drivers of larger cars and trucks often fail to look for these smaller vehicles. They miss them as they switch lanes, make turns and enter intersections. This puts riders at risk for serious and life-threatening motorcycle accidents. Even in minor accidents, motorcyclists can end up with very serious injuries.

Sadly, one such accident recently occurred in Grandview, Missouri. In that case, a motorcycle and a car collided at an intersection. According to reports, the accident occurred at the intersection of Blue Ridge Extension and Grandview Road around 6:45 a.m. on June 9.

At this point, it is unclear how the accident between the motorcycle and the car occurred. However, police say that the 33-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in the accident. The person was transported to a local hospital following the accident. However, the motorcyclist died a short time later at the hospital.

When motorcycle accidents occur, a negligent driver is often to blame. In these cases, the negligent driver can be held financially responsible for the accident. With the right help, motorcyclists can get the compensation they need to move forward following the accident.

The same goes for the families of those killed in a motorcycle accident. The families may have the right to bring a wrongful death suit against a negligent driver for the death of their loved one. This suit can help cover medical expenses, lost wages and other damages caused by the accident.
